Dormaa gets new Divisional Police Headquarters

The Director General-Technical of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Samuel Monney has called on Ghanaians to prioritize their personal security during the yuletide as the police cannot be everywhere every time.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony in Dormaa Ahenkro for a newly built Divisional Police Headquarters for the Dormaa Area, the Officer reminded the public about the activities of criminals, while sending out a warning that the Police Service is poised to deal ruthlessly with any person who contravenes the laws of Ghana.

The new Dormaa Divisional Police headquarters was built by the Dormaahene, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu in line with the creation of a Police Division for the Dormaa area this year.

The project also forms part of activities marking the 20th Anniversary of the enstoolment of both the Dormaahene and his Queen mother. The new one storey Divisional Police HQ has an Armoury, Crime Office, Male and Female cells, CID room, Finance Office and a Court Unit among others.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu said ensuring peace in the municipality is high on his agenda which prompted him to invest in the HQ for the Dormaa Division of the Police.

He called for transparency and generosity among Traditional leaders to augment the Government’s developmental efforts.

The Director General Technical of the Ghana Police Service, Samuel Monney, who deputized for the IGP, James Opong Buanuh acknowledged the sacrifice of the chief and promised that, the facility will be used effectively.

He added that, personal security should be prioritized and encouraged everyone to report suspected criminals for police action.

The Dormaa Central MCE, Drisa Ouatarra for his part acknowledged the significance of the gesture of the Omanhene and pleaded for its proper maintenance.
