Energy Expert, Kwame Jantuah, has described the dissolution of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on illegal Mining as a step in the right direction although it came late.
Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Mr. Jantuah said the Committee besides outliving its usefulness was too political.
He therefore suggested the adoption of a non-partisan approach to tackling the menace.
The Convener of the Media Coalition against Galamsey, Dr. Ken Ashigbey, said he was the least surprised about the dissolution of the Committee since it failed to achieve its purpose.
He called for thorough investigations into activities of the Committee and its allied agencies to detect loopholes and strategize to end the menace.
