The Criminal Investigative Department of police has arrested one of the lawyers for some of the suspects in the Western Togoland secessionists case.
The 42-year-old, Dennis Seyram Benson is said to be a “fake lawyer” by the police.
According to the Police, Dennis Seyram Benson who presents himself as a lawyer has been representing some of the suspects since the inception of the case.
The statement was signed and issued by the Head of Public Affairs of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), DSP Juliana Obeng, on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
DSP Juliana said the demeanor of Mr. Seyram Benson raised suspicion which lead them to have a background check on him.
The probe showed that Benson was not a lawyer.
He is currently assisting the Police with investigations.
