Former President Rawlings laid to rest in Accra

Ghana’s former President Jerry John Rawlings has been buried at the Military Cemetery in Accra.

A colorful State funeral was held at the Black Star Square in his honour.

Gun carriage bearing Jerry John Rawlings’ coffin passed through streets lined with well-wishers before he was conveyed to the Military Cemetery in Burma Camp where he was laid to rest.

The former President died at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital after a short illness on November 12, 2020, aged 73.
