Former Venture Capital Trust Fund CEO, two others begin refund of stolen monies

The Venture Capital Trust Fund has disclosed that its former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Daniel Duku, and two others have started refunding more than ¢17 million they stole from the fund.

Speaking at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the current CEO of the Fund, Yaw Owusu Brempong said the three have started paying the money after admitting to giving loans to themselves in the name of other companies.

He said per an arrangement they had with the State, Mr. Duku is to refund more than ¢15 million, whereas, his Executive Assistant, Mrs. Irene Anti Mensah and her husband, Frank Aboagye Mensah are both to pay back more than ¢2 million.

The accused persons are expected to make good all the payments within three months starting from Friday, July 10, 2020.
