The Vice President of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, Rebecca Ekpe has reaffirmed her commitment to help promote the welfare of journalists in the country. She reiterated that welfare embodies the overall wellbeing of journalists, which includes the safety, security as well as mental, psychological and emotional wellbeing of journalists, most, especially women journalists.
Rebecca Ekpe made the assertion in an interview with GBC News when she joined the newly elected officers of the Eastern Region at the Eastern Regional Apostolic Church, Ghana in Koforidua to thank God for a successful GJA elections.

The GJA Vice President pledged her commitment and support to work together with the GJA President, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour to succeed and help put the association in a high stand.
Madam Ekpe urged the Eastern Regional GJA executives to serve the Association members and journalists in the region with diligence and always let God lead them in whatever they do. She tasked the newly elected Eastern Regional GJA executives to show leadership by uniting all journalists and embarking on a massive membership drive to make the Association more vibrant in the region.
She appealed to journalists in the region to support the Executive to succeed.
The newly elected Eastern Regional GJA Chairman, Stephen Ampem Darko Koranteng noted that the victory is for every journalist in the region and prayed for God’s strength to help reposition the GJA in the region to vibrant.
Mr. Ampem Darko called on all journalists and contenders to come on board to help build a formidable and vibrant association in the region.
