The government of Ghana has announced a 10% increase in the National Daily Minimum Wage (NDMW), effective March 1, 2025. This will raise the NDMW from GHC 18.15 to GHC 19.97 per day.

The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Rashid Pelpuo, made the announcement in Accra on Thursday, February 20. He urged businesses and organizations to adjust their wages to meet the new requirement.

This decision comes after discussions between the government and labor unions.

In addition to the minimum wage adjustment, the government has also approved a 10% salary increase for public sector workers, which will also take effect from March 1, 2025.
