Government has thrown its weight behind the Bui Power Authority, to pursue other renewable energy sources to augment Ghana’s generation capacity.
Disclosing this to journalists in Accra at the end of a two day sensitisation programme on the activities of the Authority, the Chief Executive of Bui Power Authority, Fred Oware, stated that even though Bui is presently operating at full capacity, particularly during peak periods, thereby contributing to the current stability at the power sector, an expansion in the Authority’s mandate could make the country energy sufficient in years and decades to come.
