Gov’t earmarks 3 coastal towns to construct modern fish landing sites

Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah says government has earmarked three towns, Osu, Ekumfi Otuam and Mfantseman for the construction of modern fish landing sites.

This brings the number of projects along the coastal region of Ghana to 14.

Speaking on the ‘Eye on Port’ programme, Mr. Asiamah said these projects form part of government’s effort to revamp the fishing industry.

Mr. Asiamah said Government had to revisit arrangements with the Chinese Development Bank for the construction of the sites.

He said many processes are underway to ensure that these projects and many others along the coastal lines are realized.
