Gov't vows to sanction culpable officials in Anas' ‘Galamsey’ exposé

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Kweku Asumah-Cheremeh, says his ministry and the Inter Ministerial Committee on galamsey are waiting for the premiere of the full video by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremenyaw Anas dubbed “Galamsey fraud” before making any comment.

He said necessary action will be taken against officials who are found to have been compromised.

Mr. Asumah-Cheremah said the fight against illegal mining is to protect the country’s water bodies and environment for posterity and therefore government will not renege on the fight.

Anas in a yet to be premiered video “galamsey fraud”, captured on tape some officials including security personnel taking bribe and compromising the fight against illegal mining.

Titled “Galamsey Fraud Part 1’’, the new documentary debuts on Wednesday, 27 February 2019.
