About 900 female students of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) have been displaced following a massive fire outbreak that gutted the girls’ dormitory on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Although no casualties were recorded, reports say personal belongings, including beds, mattresses, books, uniforms, and other items, were destroyed, leaving many students in distress.
The facility, which accommodates students from four houses—Aggrey, Arthur, Ali, and Gbewaa—was razed by the fire, forcing students who were in class to rush in to salvage some of their belongings.
It took the Ghana National Fire Service several hours to bring the blaze under control.
