Prisons Service in Upper West expects bumper maize harvest

The Upper West Regional Prison Service is expected to harvest about 720 (Seven hundred and twenty) mini bags of Maize from its forty-acre farm in the Wa East District this year.
The Maize Farm located at Baayiri is under the ‘Planting for Food and Jobs Programme’.
It is being facilitated by the Regional Office of the National Youth Authority with Technical support from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Inspecting the Farm, the Regional Minister Alhaji Sulemana Alhassan said the region will witness tremendous increase in food production this year as compared to last year because a lot more people have embraced the ‘Planting for Food and Jobs programme’.
