The National Petroleum Authority has reduced fuel prices by Eight Pesewas.

A joint statement signed by the Minister of Energy, National Petroleum Authority, Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation, Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, Association of Oil Marketing Companies, and the Institute for Energy Policies and Research at a meeting yesterday in Accra, said the 17 pesewas per litre increase in fuel previously announced has now been reduced to 9 pesewas per litre effective today.

The reduction in fuel price by 8 pesewas by the NPA has received backlash from a section of the public with many describing the reduction as inadequate and unnecessary.

A section of the public who spoke to GBC News said they are not content with the 8 pesewas reduction while some said the eight pesewas was acceptable.

They however believe the reduction should be drastic and not just 8 pesewas.
