The Executive Director of the Bureau of Public Safety, Nana Yaw Akwaada has called for the publishing of the outcome of investigations into past market fires.
He said the Bureau will not hesitate to seek a court order to that effect. In his view, this will let the public know what the causes have been and better appreciate how well recommendations have been implemented or otherwise.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Akwaada said it is unfortunate the rate at which markets are being engulfed by fire, adding that there is every reason to worry as it throws people out of business every now and then.
Mr. Akwaada reiterated the need to put in place safety measures such as zoning of all markets among others to reverse the situation.
