The Ashanti Regional Security Council, REGSEC, has asked rampaging students on the campus of the KNUST to refrain from lawlessness.

This warning comes after a clash between students of University Hall ‘Katanga’ and Unity Hall ‘Continental’.

A statement from REGSEC and signed by Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, asked all students and residents of the university community that, all actions intended by any person or group of persons to disturb the peace at the university will be addressed through legal means.

The statement adds that people nursing such intentions should desist from that and adhere to the rule of law, as any breach of the peace at KNUST and the region will be addressed appropriately.

This clash comes barely weeks after a similar incident between Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah Halls of the University of Ghana.
