President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will deliver his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Friday, January 3, 2025.

This address, required by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, serves as the President’s last official report on the country’s state before he leaves office.

The 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic will officially dissolve on Monday, January 6, 2025. On the same day, the 9th Parliament will meet at 11:00 PM to elect a Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.

Following this, the newly elected Speaker and Members of Parliament will be sworn in at midnight, marking the beginning of the next parliamentary term.

Parliament has also urged media personnel to secure accreditation ahead of time to ensure smooth coverage of these significant national events.
