BA Security Council on manhunt for members of two Cartels involved in illegal lumbering

Members of two notorious Cartels, Salifu 11 and Malik 9 involved in illegal lumbering in the Ahafo Region, have been declared wanted by the Regional Security Council.

The group believed to be fully armed, have been terrorizing officials of the Forestry Commission in the region.

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, said the two Cartels are on the run and have been placed on the Wanted List.

Briefing journalists after a closed door meeting with the Ahafo Regional Security Council as part of his tour of the region, Mr. Jinapor said government has signed onto a number of Protocols at the just ended COP26 in Glasgow and will do everything possible to protect the country’s Forest Reserves.

The Ahafo Regional Minister, George Boakye, said the Security Agencies are on high alert to deal with those involved in illegal activities.
