The International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN with support from the European Union, EU, is implementing a nine-million Euro Project in four conservation priority areas within nine African countries.

The beneficiary countries include Ghana, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone and the Gambia.

The objective is to link Governance and production systems with the structure of conservation of mangroves at the territorial levels.

As part of the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystem which fell last month, IUCN organised a tour for selected members of the Media Platform on Environment and Climate Change to the Keta Lagoon Complex Ramsar site in the Volta Region.
