As a young child who has no ideas of what await him but believes life in the city would be the best, it ended up in the fishing community at the age of seven (7).
Mr. Godson Glawu from Keta during the training for journalists from Oti and Volta region by International Justice Mission (IJM) shared a story of how he was rescued by IJM after 10 years of been used on the lake.
Mr Godson said he was 7 years old and in KG 2 was promised of taking to Accra to continue schooling by a man who came to his father and as a child was happy in continuing his education in the city.
He later realised he was taken to a community where either you are involved in farming,fishing, or you follow the cattle to the bush as a young boy of 7 years.
From 7 years to 17 years before he was rescued, he was used on the lake for fishing and was the only one who went under the lake whenever the nets stuck.
According to Mr. Godson, there was a time he nearly took his life because his age and think has no future.
He was later rescued by the IJM team,enrolled in school, and has since completed and now electrical engineer.
Mr. Godson has encouraged the media to add their voices in the fight against child trafficking.
