GBC staff member Francis Kparmah laid to rest in emotional farewell

The Naro community in the Nadowli-Kaleo District Saturday, June 28, bid a final farewell to Francis Kparmah, a devoted staff member of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in the Upper West Region. Mr. Kparmah passed away on May 30, 2025, at the Regional Hospital in Wa after a short illness, leaving behind a grieving family and a legacy of dedication and hard work.

The requiem mass, held prior to the burial, was officiated by the Parish Priest of Daffiama, Reverend Father Peter Naab. In his homily, Reverend Father Naab reflected on Mr. Kparmah’s life, highlighting his humility and devotion to his work and family.

During the funeral service, a moving tribute was read on behalf of GBC by Seidu Ibrahim Bomanjo. Mr. Bomanjo praised Mr. Kparmah’s professionalism and dedication, describing him as a valuable member of the GBC team.

He highlighted Mr. Kparmah’s significant contributions to the corporation and his impact on his colleagues.

Mr. Kparmah’s family, who were visibly distraught, were comforted by the outpouring of love and support from the community. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Scholarstica Kognir, and their three children: Caleb, Othniel, and Lorna. The family expressed their gratitude to everyone who supported them during this difficult time.

As the mourners gathered at Naro for the burial, the community came together to bid farewell to a man who had touched many lives through his work and personal relationships. Mr. Kparmah’s funeral was a testament to the love and respect he earned during his lifetime.
