Corporate Governance Expert and Lecturer, Dr. Kwaku Anane Gyinde has advised Ghanaians to seize the opportunity of insecurity in the country and take charge of their own security.

Mr. Gyinde who is eyeing the Parliamentary seat in his constituency acknowledged that with regard to the incident that occurred to Maltiti Sayida on the Baba ta Kuma Road, the Municipal Assembly and Security Apparatus in that Jurisdiction embarked on an intensive patrol campaign for a period but stopped due to financial constraints.

He made it known that the robbery index on that stretch has increasingly become rampant and needs to be attended to.

According to him, citizens should not sit aloof and wait for the government’s intervention before they prioritize their own security. He admonished that people should learn to keep their own security in their own hands.

‘‘If the government is not coming in, you can take your own security into your own hands. I’m not saying people should begin to harm themselves’’, he said.

He further called on the government and other stakeholders to beef up their accoutrements to make sure citizens are given maximum security both at home and on the road. He advised that night patrol teams should be motivated and assisted rightly.
