President John Dramani Mahama has outlined a series of infrastructure, health, and education interventions for the Bono East Region during a meeting with members of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs at the Presidency.
Touching on infrastructure development, President Mahama said several key roads in the region have been captured under Phase One of the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure programme.

He listed the projects as the Techiman–Wenchi Road, Techiman–Sunyani Road, Jema Township Roads, Jema–Ampoma–Anyima Road, Amoma–Agyina Road, Bodom–Busunya Road, Bonomanso–Kranka Road and the Tanoboase Road.
He further disclosed that the Atebubu–Kwame Danso–Kadjebi Road will be included in Phase Two of the programme next year, while work is ongoing on the Techiman Outer Ring Road to ease traffic congestion within the municipality.
On the health sector, the President announced that construction of regional hospitals for the remaining newly created regions, including Bono East, is expected to commence next year.
He also revealed that Bono East will benefit from a new sports stadium project, which will be undertaken ahead of the commencement of the regional hospital.

In the education sector, President Mahama said government is engaging the World Bank on a programme to upgrade selected Category B Senior High Schools to Category A status, while Category C schools will also be elevated to Category B.
He expressed confidence that institutions in the Bono East Region will be among the beneficiaries of the initiative.
