The President, John Dramani Mahama, has promised the people of Upper West Wa completion of the Wa-Tumu-Han road.
According to him, the days when farmers have had to struggle to transport their produce, traders have lost goods to bad roads, children have had to endure unsafe and lengthy commutes to school, and armed robbers have had a field day attacking mothers returning from markets have come to an end.
Addressing the media at the official sod cutting of the Wa-Tumu-Han road on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, President Mahama stated that enough was enough and that everyone deserved the same quality of roads and access to infrastructure, citing that “infrastructure is not a privilege but a right.”
He assured Ghanaians that under the big push project, he would undertake the upgrading and rehabilitation of more than 260 kilometres of roads in the Upper West region, which will include dualization of the roads and beautification of the regional capital.
President Mahama also called out bad contractors who engage in shoddy work, warning that he would not tolerate such.
According to him, “our contractors, the days of poor constructions are over.”
