The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced a temporary delay in the printing of Ghana Cards due to technical challenges.

In a public notice dated March 3, 2026, the Authority explained that it is currently experiencing technical issues affecting the card printing process.

The NIA said its team of expert technicians is working diligently to restore the system to full functionality as soon as possible. The Authority expressed regret over any inconvenience the situation may cause and appealed to the public to exercise patience while efforts are underway to resolve the problem.

Despite the disruption to card printing, the NIA assured the public that all other services that do not require card issuance remain fully operational. These include identity verification services, record updates without card replacement, and other related services that do not involve the printing of new cards.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient and reliable services to all Ghanaians and residents.

The statement was signed by Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NIA.
