The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a final one-week reopening of the 2025/2026 National Service registration portal to resolve outstanding reposting and validation challenges affecting some service personnel.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the NSA headquarters at Airport in Accra by the Director-General, Ms Ruth Dela Sedoh.
Ms Sedoh said the portal will be reopened from Monday, December 15 to Monday, December 22, 2025, with Saturday, December 20, included as an operational day to provide additional access time for affected personnel.
She explained that the exercise is not a fresh registration, but a limited intervention for service personnel who were formally rejected by their initially assigned institutions and have official rejection or release letters, as well as those who were unable to complete regional validation due to genuine administrative or technical challenges.
Ms Sedoh recalled that registration for the 2025/2026 service year began on October 8, 2025, following a press briefing on October 7. The initial deadline of October 15 was later extended to October 24 after consultations with key stakeholders, including tertiary institutions and service personnel.
She said further reviews of the process resulted in a final deadline of December 12, 2025, after which the portal was closed to allow the Authority to consolidate data, validate postings and proceed with deployments.
The Director-General stressed that enforcing the registration deadline was necessary because the 2025/2026 National Service year officially began on November 3, 2025. She noted that extending the process indefinitely would undermine effective planning, deployment coordination and the timely payment of allowances.
Ms Sedoh added that the final reopening is intended to ensure fairness for affected personnel while preserving the integrity of the National Service Scheme. She cautioned that the portal will be permanently closed after December 22, 2025, as the Authority prepares for subsequent deployments, including that of nurses later in December.
She urged all eligible service personnel to use the limited window to regularise their status, reaffirming the NSA’s commitment to transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery.
