President John Dramani Mahama has commenced his one-day official visit to Paris with a high-level meeting with the President of the French Senate, Gérard Larcher.




The President was received with a ceremonial military welcome ahead of the bilateral discussions, which focused on strengthening trade and investment ties, enhancing regional security, and intensifying the fight against terrorism.
The talks also highlighted France’s support for maternal health and agriculture in Ghana, as well as the notable improvements in the country’s economy under President Mahama.




President Mahama is accompanied by a delegation that includes Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, National Security Advisor Prosper Bani, Secretary to the President Dr. Callistus Mahama, Presidential Advisor and Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari, and Ghana’s Ambassador to France Mavis Ama Frimpong.
Later in the day, President Mahama and his delegation are scheduled to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
