The Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Center, KAIPTC, Major General Francis Ofori, says promoting peace and security in West Africa, is the collective responsibility of both state and non-actors.
He said this at the opening of a Certificate Course on Women, Gender, Peace and Security at Takoradi in the Western Region.
The course seeks to empower women to take up challenging roles in society, especially, the promotion of peace and security in the Sub-Region.
Deputy Director, Faculty of Academic and Research at KAIPTC, Dr. Emma Birikorang, said the training will also get Policy Makers to appreciate challenges impeding women’s role in security institutions and peace building.
