Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team, has strongly criticised the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, for getting emotional during a recent press briefing on illegal mining, also known as galamsey.

‎During the briefing, the minister broke down in tears as he described the destruction caused by illegal mining in the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve. He spoke of streams filled with mud and a forest that has become lifeless.

‎However, Miracles Aboagye believes crying is not the solution. Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Tuesday, April 22, he said the minister should focus on taking action, not showing emotions.

‎“Ghanaians didn’t vote for you to cry. We need solutions, not tears,” Aboagye said. He reminded the public that Armah Buah had previously criticised the former president over galamsey and claimed to have the answers to stop it.

‎He added, “If you are now in charge and you come and cry, what message does that send? It makes people feel hopeless.”

‎Miracles Aboagye urged the minister to stop the emotional displays and instead work hard to fight the galamsey problem that continues to damage Ghana’s environment.
