The Teachers and Educational Workers Union, TEWU, has suspended its strike following a meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission on January 5, 2022.

In an interview with GBC News, the General Secretary of TEWU, Mark Denkyira Koranteng said a technical committee constituted by the TEWU Management will meet on Thursday, January 6, 2022, to address its concerns. Mr. Korankye said if the Union is not satisfied with the outcome of the Committee’s meeting, it will resume its strike.

He was however hopeful that the Committee will act quickly on the payment of Professional Development Allowances to non-teaching staff.
