The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals following the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old at the Asankrangwa Education Area on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
In a statement, police said initial findings suggest the victim was pursued and attacked by a group after a dispute with one of the suspects, identified as 36-year-old Kwasi Opong. The victim was stabbed several times during the assault.
Police officers later arrested Opong along with 23-year-old William Francis Osei. Both are being held as investigations continue, while efforts are ongoing to track down another suspect who managed to escape.
The victim’s body has been moved to the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Command assured the public that justice would be served and appealed to residents to assist with credible information that could help apprehend the remaining suspect.
