Mining activities at the Namdini site in the Upper East Region are being positioned as a major driver of local and national development. Vice President of Cardinal Namdini SD Gold, Vincent Xiao Suun, says the company is committed to ensuring that both communities and the country benefit significantly from its operations.
According to him, the mining project is not only focused on resource extraction but also on improving livelihoods. He emphasized that the company has already employed more than 2,000 workers, many of whom are drawn from surrounding communities. This, he noted, has contributed to job creation and skills development in the area.
“Through the mining of Cardinal Namdidni, we want to enrich the local people while enriching the country. Cardinal Namdini has employed over 2000 people and they are making a living”. Vincent Xiao Suun revealed.
Mr. Suun further revealed that over 100 million US dollars has been injected into Ghana’s economy through the company’s operations, supporting local businesses and boosting economic activity.

He made these remarks during a visit by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, to the Upper East Region. The visit aimed to assess ongoing mining activities and their impact on host communities.
Government officials say such investments are key to Ghana’s development, as they promote employment, infrastructure growth, and broader economic stability while ensuring that natural resources benefit citizens.
