The Western North Regional National Road Safety Authority, had led a team of stakeholders including the Police MTTD, the Ghana National Fire Service, GNFS, and the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, to embark on massive road safety enforcement to ensure that the roads in the region are safe for every road user.
The Acting Regional Head, Oheneba Acheampong, in an interview hinted that though the region have been able to reduce the number of reported crashes in 2024 from 294 to 273 in 2025, injuries and deaths continue to increased due to overloading and speeding as well as rampant disregard to road traffic regulations and safety measures by some motorists.

The reason for the joint enforcement drive. He said to reduce the incidence of road traffic crashes, injuries and deaths the NRSA teamed up with other stakeholders to embark on an enforcement exercise to stem and curtail crashes in the region and to enforce safety standards and road traffic regulations in the Western North region.
The two day joint enforcement exercise which took place at Sefwi Dwenase and Asawinso arrested over eighty motorists who had flouted the road safety regulations.
