Executive Director of the National Interest Movement, Mrs. Susan Adu Amankwah has observed that though some progress has been made on the issue of gender parity, more needs to be done. She said women have been conditioned to constantly prioritize other things first before attending to themselves but that should not be regarded as a disadvantage to them.
Mrs. Adu Amankwah made the point on the GTV Breakfast Show while discussing progress made so far on the womens front, since the Beijing Conference, against the backdrop of International Women’s Day. She said the classification of women when it comes to domestic issues must change. She encouraged men to play supporting roles to women and both can venture into each other’s territory and collaborate even more, especially for couples.
Her view is that women should not just be talking about ”getting ahead, but sustaining decisions made at the table”.
