The Ghanaian Times raises concerns about the practice where some political parties continue to operate illegally while the EC looks on. According to the paper, only the two major political parties; the NPP and NDC are in good standing and operating lawfully out of the 27 registered political parties. The Times is puzzled at how political parties who want to rule the country cannot abide by the rules governing their operations. It calls on the EC to purge the list of political parties by removing those who cannot abide by the demands.

The Daily Graphic expresses worry that society is losing sight of the objective of Chocolate Day. According to the paper, the rationale for the day was to boost domestic consumption of Ghana’s chocolate and give a healthy orientation to the celebration of Valentine’s Day. The paper suggests that programmes be organised around the consumption of chocolate and other cocoa products at public gatherings to help sensitise Ghanaians to the rationale behind Chocolate Day. It advises religious authorities to play a leading role to change the narrative of the day and urges Ghanaians to use the occasion to show love to the vulnerable in society.
