The Minister for the Interior, Mubarak Muntaka, says screening centres for the 2025 Internal Security Service recruitment will take no more than 1,000 applicants a day as part of new measures to prevent overcrowding and ensure a safe, organised process.
Mubarak Muntaka stated that strict crowd-control measures have been put in place for the 2025 Internal Security Service recruitment, with each screening centre limited to 1,000 applicants a day 500 in the morning and 500 in the afternoon to prevent congestion and ensure safety.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Friday November 14, 2025, the minister said the decision follows Wednesday’s unfortunate incident during the Armed Forces recruitment process. He noted that the Ministry, in consultation with security chiefs, has taken steps to ensure a smooth, safe, and transparent exercise.
Mr. Muntaka said the recruitment is part of government’s efforts to address unemployment and provide skills training for young people, in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 campaign pledge.
He assured the public that the recruitment will be free, fair, and strictly based on merit. He dismissed claims that some applicants were already being selected through backdoor arrangements and encouraged the public to report any fraud or bribery attempts.
