Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, has thrown his weight behind Dr. Bryan Acheampong, describing him as the “most strategic candidate” to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 elections.
Speaking on the ‘GTV Breakfast Show’, Dr. Adomako Kissi noted that the NPP’s biggest challenge going into the next general election is not only the presidency but also reclaiming several parliamentary seats lost in 2024.

“Based on where the party is now and the struggles we face, I believe Dr. Bryan Acheampong is the candidate who can strategically help us wrestle back many of our seats. And without reclaiming seats, the presidency in 2028 will be impossible,” he stated.
The former MP praised Dr. Acheampong’s role in recommending and supporting many delegates within the party, which he said positions him as a strong contender for leadership.
He further argued that the NPP must prioritize a candidate capable of regaining lost constituencies, adding that a presidential win in 2028 would only be “the icing on the cake.”
The endorsement comes after the NPP’s poor showing in the 2024 parliamentary elections, where the party’s representation fell sharply in 2024.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured a strong majority, winning majority of the seats in Parliament.
