The Daily Graphic welcomes the closure of Ghana’s borders by government, considering the threats posed by the deadly COVID-19.The paper however raises questions on the feasibility of the directive considering the number of unapproved routes along Ghana’s borders. The Graphic calls on government to pay attention to those unapproved routes while providing security personnel with the needed logistics to ensure that the objective of the directive is achieved.

The Ghanaian Times urges government to take a cue from Monday, March 23 market disinfection exercise in Accra to better organise subsequent exercises to maximise profit. The Times says although the disinfection exercise was generally successful, there were some glitches that cannot be overlooked. According to the paper, some persons still managed to make their way to the market to sell while some goods including edibles were left uncovered in the open during the fumigation exercise. It points to an incident where the military had to use force to ward off people gathered at the Central Business District for the exercise to take place. The Times advises that citizens should be well briefed on the need to abstain from amassing during such exercises in order not to put anyone in harm’s way.
