The Daily Graphic applauds President Akufo-Addo for leading the nation to seek the face of God in these trying times. It says the decision is also a reminder and recognition that the gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to Him. The paper believes that the institution of a National Day of Fasting and Prayer will not be out of place and should be considered as an annual event instead of a one day event. It says the nation has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God thus the church and the mosque cannot escape blame in this abomination. Therefore, it is time to do away with injustice. While the Graphic contemplates the approaches to instituting the National Day of Fasting and Prayer, it urges all to keep educating themselves on the virus and observe social distancing and hygienic practices, including effective hand-washing and others recommended by health professionals.

The Ghanaian Times is worried about the porous nature of our land borders which allow illegal entry into the country. The paper says in the wake of the new coronavirus and efforts to contain it, the situation pose great danger to other citizens. It urges the security agencies to mount surveillance on Okada riders and other users of unapproved routes to stop them from breaking the rules. The Times calls on government to adopt tough measures and severely deal with persons whose behaviour puts others at risk.
