The Spectator makes an urgent call for a deliberate national agenda to raise awareness on the importance of President Akufo-Addo’s promise to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa. It says the prevailing environmental and insanitary situation in most parts of the country, particularly, the national capital, Accra, calls for a concerted effort to address the problem. The paper is equally concerned about the negative impact situations like flood, indiscriminate felling of trees, open defecation and the escalating galamsey situations have on livelihood, ecosystems and infrastructure. It therefore calls on all to adopt positive attitudes in safeguarding the environment.

The Mirror cautions ladies who use hair bonding glue to fix eyelashes. According to the paper, though wearing long eyelashes adds to the beauty of a woman, it has also become problematic since it causes health implications like blindness. The paper however finds the practice worrisome as health experts say bonding glue is detrimental to the eye. The mirror appeals to women who use these dangerous chemicals to refrain from doing so to protect the eyes from perpetual damage.
