All primary contacts of COVID-19 patient at UG test negative

The University of Ghana says all contacts to the reported Covid 19 patient of the University have tested negative of the virus.

A student of the University of Ghana on the 13th of this month was diagnosed with Covid 19 after returning to campus from an international trip.

94 primary contacts of the patient, made up of students and employees of the university, were immediately put under a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

A release from the office of the University’s registrar said tests done by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research on all the contacts came out negative of Covid 19.

The release said the affected student with Covid 19 is however still in isolation at the National Quarantine facility and currently responding to treatment and prayed for her full recovery.
