Asante Kotoko, the Porcupine Warriors, popularly known as the Porcupine Warriors paid a courtesy visit to the Life Patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to present the 2024/25 FA Cup trophy. The team was crowned champions after a thrilling 2-1 win against Golden Kick FC in the FA Cup final held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Kwame Opoku’s early goal gave Kotoko the lead, but Golden Kick equalized with a stunning free kick by Bless Ege, ending the first half 1-1. However, Opoku’s late penalty sealed the win for Kotoko, marking their 10th FA Cup title.
The Kotoko delegation, led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), along with former coach Kwesi Appiah and technical director Malik Jabir, arrived in Kumasi on Monday, June 16, after their triumphant campaign.
Wednesday, June 18, they presented the trophy to Otumfuo, seeking his blessings and appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
Otumfuo praised the team for their remarkable win and charged them to perform well in Africa next season.
Asante Kotoko’s FA Cup victory has earned them a spot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, and the team is expected to make a strong impression on the continental stage.
The Fierce Porcupines are determined to make their fans proud and bring more glory to the club.
The presentation of the trophy to Otumfuo is a significant moment for Asante Kotoko, as it showcases the club’s respect and appreciation for its life patron.
