The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, hosted the President of Germany, Frank-Walker Stenmier, in a  closed-door meeting at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to discuss matters of mutual interest to Asanteman, in particular, and Ghana as a whole and Germany.

The German President’s visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi formed part of his working tour of the Ashanti region as part of his three-day visit to Ghana.

He was received at the Palace with a cultural performance by the Manhyia Royal Kete and Adowa troupe.

The visiting German President, led by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, was met on arrival by the Paramount Chief of Juaben, Nana Otuo Serebuor, Ghana’s immediate past Chairman of the Council of State, and one of the Linguists of the Asantehene, Bafuor Kwame Kantankrakyi, who ushered him and his entourage to the Conference Hall of the newly built Manhyia Jubilee Hall where the Asantehene was already waiting.

After a few minutes of formalities and exchange of pleasantries, the two leaders went into a closed door meeting where they are said to have discussed issues of mutual interest to both Germany and Ghana, with Asanteman in focus.

They later came out for the visiting President to continue with conviviality with some chiefs and other officials of the Manhyia Palace before he was seen off by Otumfuo Osei Tutu.
