Black Satellites head coach Desmond Ofei has stepped down from his role as he has been reassigned to serve exclusively as Assistant Coach of the Black Stars. This strategic move aims to streamline coaching roles and eliminate scheduling conflicts across the national team setup.

Ofei, who has been managing responsibilities between the under-20 team and the senior national team, will step down from his role with the Black Satellites after guiding them through the upcoming WAFU A & B U20 Championships.

This adjustment will allow him to dedicate his efforts fully to supporting Black Stars Head Coach Otto Addo in preparing the senior team for upcoming international matches.

The decision is part of a broader effort by the GFA to reinforce team-specific mandates and improve overall technical preparation. By focusing coaches on a single team, the association hopes to foster better development and consistency across Ghana’s various national squads.

The restructuring also affects Charles Sampson, who will now focus solely on the Black Princesses, stepping away from his dual role as Assistant Coach of the Black Queens. The GFA emphasized that these changes are crucial to preventing overlaps and ensuring that each team receives dedicated attention from its coaching staff.

The Ghana Football Association believes these strategic changes will empower coaches to concentrate fully on their respective teams. The FA aims to build a stronger, more focused football system that will contribute to Ghana’s long-term success and competitiveness in international tournaments.
