Finance Minister present mini budget on Wednesday

The Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta will on Wednesday, 28th October, 2020 present a ‘mini’ budget to Parliament for the first quarter of 2021.

As he presents the expenditure for January to March, 2021, the House will also be expected to consider the report of the finance committee on the same day and take the consequential parliamentary action.

This, is in compliance with Section 23 of The Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

Presenting the business statement for the fourth week ending Friday 30th October, 2020, The Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said the house “is scheduled to sit on Monday, 26th October,2020”, extended sittings.

The sitting of the house may also be extended beyond 2:00pm in line with Order 40(2) to enable the completion of scheduled business for each day of the week under consideration.
