The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has commenced its 2025 ORC Week celebration, spotlighting enterprise risk management as a crucial tool for strengthening Ghana’s business environment.
The event aims to equip entrepreneurs with practical strategies to address operational challenges, comply with statutory obligations, and enhance business resilience.
The celebration began with a Media Engagement and Business Clinic at the ORC Head Office in Accra, bringing together journalists, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders. The session provided updates on the ORC’s mandate, ongoing reforms, and available support services for businesses.
Acting Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah , underscored the importance of compliance, particularly the filing of annual returns, in safeguarding businesses and identifying problems early.

“The main reason we are gathered here today is to launch the ORC Week celebration to synthesize and address some of the challenges of our clients,” she stated. “If you are able to file your annual returns well, you’ll be aware of the issues affecting your business. These are reforms we have to look at to change the business setting.”

Throughout the week, the ORC will hold further public education sessions focusing on enterprise risk management, accurate corporate record-keeping, and reform-driven strategies to reduce the cost of doing business.
By engaging directly with the media and the public, the ORC hopes to foster a business environment that is transparent, compliant, and capable of withstanding future risks.
