The Ejisu District Court in Ashanti has remanded a 25-year old auto mechanic, Joseph Sarkodie, into police custody for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 12-year old girl through the anus. The incident occurred on the 10th of this month at Domeabra in the Ejisu municipality.
Narrating the facts to the court presided over by Mr. Kwaku Baah Frempong, the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Appiah Kubi, said the accused lured the victim into an uncompleted building at Domeabra and allegedly forcibly had sex with her through her anus.
He said the victim later complained of abdominal pains and informed elder sister, who accompanied her to the Ejisu Police Station to make a formal complaint. Chief Inspector Appiah Kubi said results from a medical examination endorsed by the officer in charge, in lieu of a police medical report confirmed that the girl had been defiled.
He said the accused in a cautioned statement, during investigation admitted inserting his manhood into the anus of the victim but denied having sexual intercourse with her. He is to be brought before the court again on the 1st of next month.
