The Ghanaian Times commends government for fulfilling its promise of providing ambulances to the various constituencies across the country to improve health care delivery. While the paper applauds government for the intervention, it cautions individuals assigned to the ambulances to take good care of them to expand their lifespan.

The Daily Graphic believes the chieftaincy institution can be used as a tool to foster democracy and promote peace in this year’s elections. Two weeks ago, President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona called on the National Peace Council to take urgent steps to defuse the rising tension surrounding the new voters’ register. Monday January 27, the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional Area drew the nation’s attention to a widely held view that the number of votes needed to determine a winner in a Presidential election is 50 percent plus one votes, which is wrong. The Graphic commends the two distinguished personalities and hopes that members of the prestigious chieftaincy institution will emulate them.
