The Ghanaian Times writes on the preparedness for the floods as the rainy season begins. The Meteorological Agency has warned people living in Accra and its surrounding areas to be mindful of the floods that may occur during the rains. The paper urges the country to improve on safety mechanisms in low lying areas to enhance the emergency response systems to save lives. It also expresses disappointment at the fact that the country has not learnt any lessons from previous floods. The Ghanaian Times therefore calls on MMDCEAs to institute measures that would prevent or minimise flooding in the Greater Accra Region.

The Daily Graphic urges all to help deal with the electronic products also known as e-waste. This is because the boom in its patronage has come with the challenge of how to effectively deal with and manage the end use of those products. The paper says the problem associated with e-waste has not only become a menace but also a serious health hazard for people who are directly involved in the e-waste scrap business and within the environs of Agbogbloshie and the Odaw River. It says twelve years down the line, the menace has increased and the nation awaits the laws to specifically deal with e-waste even though there have been efforts to get policy document and strategies for e-waste cycling.  The Graphic is therefore calling on the EPA to consider this growing menace and give it the needed attention to ensure that the boom in the consumption of electronic products does not come with a heavy health price.
