Students of Bolgatanga Technical Institute have vowed to maintain peace and discipline on campus following recent incidents of unrest that disrupted academic activities. The commitment was made during the unveiling of a symbolic statue within the school, which authorities say represents a new dawn of discipline, unity, and academic excellence for the institution.
The unveiling ceremony, which brought together school management, students, teachers, and parents, marked a significant turning point in the school’s history. The statue, strategically positioned on campus, is intended to serve as a constant reminder of the values of responsibility, respect, and commitment to learning.
Speaking on behalf of the student body, the Senior Girls Prefect, Akooba Augustina, assured parents and stakeholders that students have resolved to turn a new page. She emphasized that the student leadership has taken lessons from past events and is determined to uphold discipline and focus on academic excellence.
According to her, “students are now more aware of the consequences of negative behavior and are ready to cooperate with school authorities to create a peaceful learning environment. I will further appeal to parents to continue supporting the school so that we grow into responsible future leaders.”
School authorities expressed optimism that the symbolic gesture, combined with renewed student commitment, will help restore the image of the institution and improve academic performance. They also called for sustained collaboration among students, teachers, parents, and the wider community to ensure lasting peace and progress at Bolgatanga Technical Institute.
