The Government of Ghana has initiated urgent measures to evacuate students from conflict-prone areas in Bawku, Nalerigu, and surrounding communities.
This follows the imposition of a curfew announced by the Ministry of the Interior, which took effect today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily, until further notice.
A statement released by the Presidency Communications, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, emphasized that the curfew is not only aimed at restoring peace but also to facilitate the safe evacuation of students currently in schools within the affected areas.
